The Barbarian is a troop unlocked at the start of the game in the Goblin Kingdom area. He is a melee single-target troop that attacks the closest target to him.
Strategy[]
- Barbarians are a simplistic troop that, while not doing much on their own, can be devastating in combos.
- Single Barbarians and Goblins can be used to finish off weaker buildings, saving more powerful troops for tougher stages.
- You may want to try using the Fireball spell to blast down Walls so Barbarians can hit more dangerous inner targets.
- Barbarians will always attack the closest target, so you way want to try using the Swap tactic to shuffle around Barbarians and get them to hit precisely what you want.
- With Guarding Sword equipped, Barbarians are able to take more hits in battle.
- You may want to use Rage Sword in levels with Wizard Towers or Mortars, so all your Barbarians will easily get buffed.
- This is less effective in harder levels, where Barbarians are defeated in one-shot by defenses.
- Heavy Sword is an easy and reliable weapon to use in most basic situations.
- When using Heavy Sword, always consider which Barbarians are getting the damage boost, and try to make sure they attack a good target. You do not want to waste this boost on an enemy low on HP.

Trivia[]
- The word "Barbarian" comes from "Barbaros", which is the Greek word for uncivilized. Dating back to the ancient Greek times, the Greeks referred to non-Greek people as barbarians because the language they spoke sounded to Greeks like gibberish represented by the sounds "bar..bar..;".
- The Barbarian seems to have a dagger with a sheath on his belt. It's unknown why he has that.
- From the Knight's description in Clash Royale, Barbarians are said to be distant cousins, due to their physical similarities, especially their mustaches and hair color.
- The Barbarian bears more than a passing resemblance to Hulk Hogan. He also resembles Abraham from The Walking Dead TV series.
- Supercell held a contest on July 2014 to see who could draw the best art of Barbarian's summer vacation. The winners of this contest were Mark from Engineers Clans, Jasus71, and Chao*64.
